ave to hard shut down the computer. The light on the MEC stays on also - it's a solid yellow light just like when paris is in use. Thanks everyone!I have a brand new MEC Expansion Module but I have no clue how to install. I assume I should pop out once of the plates on the MEC. Anyone have any ideas and what will appear in the Patch window once installed?THANKS WAYNE!! I did try those steps and it worked!! I'm back in business! Thanks so much for the info!! I sure am glad I found this site.

By the way, I just posted a questions about installing a new MEC Expansion Module. Do you know how to install?

Thanks again for your suggestion.

Ray

Just unscrew the corresponding plates on MECA's front and back and slide it in. make sure the card is neatly seated in its nylon "tracks" on the &qu

I'm using it with the 64 bit scherzo driver.

Justin (Reaper developer) just made a change to Reraper that allows the PARIS ASIO driver to work with an external clock. It's very cool!

I'm just working out how to get the control panel working. I was going to use a library called QT, but it isn't playing nice with the rest of the driver code. I've started building it just using the Windows API.

One compromise that I'm leaning towards is having the hardware initialize when the driver is first accessed, not when it is officially started by the ASIO host application. The reason I'm thinking of doing this is that if the driver is reset by the host app, one doesn't have to wait for all the MEC modules to be re-initialized. The down side is that if one were to load up an ASIO host with the intention of using another audio interface, the PARIS hardware would still be initialized if the ASIO driver is installed.

What do you guys think of this?

All the best,

Mike
Hi Mike,

Paris and Reaper...a match made in...wait...does the Reaper have an exclusive with Heaven?

Looking forward to see how this all works!

clicked on your link, but dropbox is giving me a 404 error, so you must have removed it. Do you still have the files? I'm desperate to find a copy, pronto. Would you be willing to repost it if so?

dankeschön!!Hey Doug, somehow in the process of dropping off the face of the earth for the past year and change, I missed your reply.

Do you think you could make one for me? How much would you charge for it? I don't think I have the EE knowledge necessary to do it myself.FYI, Murgatroyd was able to help me get the files I needed, therefore I no longer need them.

However, I do agree that these files should be hosted somewhere so that others can make use of them without having to pay money for the upgraded drivers which isn't cheap considering most other drivers for everything else is given away for free.

It is a sad world when even the stuff normally given away for free starts costing huge amounts of money. It's one thing to accept donations or charge a few dollars (in case no one is willing to donate) for the efforts in re-creating a functioning driver for XP, but to charge 50$ for something normally given away freely... that's just wrong.

I'm sure all 3 of us who posted in here will gladly upload the single core XP drivers to anyone who asks for it. Just private message us if the attached file doesn't work for some reason and if we're around, we'll give you the files. Smile

And if for some reason staff here disapproves of this comment or topic and deletes it, then I will make it a priority to get the word out and the files hosted using my own methods on other forums, blogs and even torrent sites. Let the free stuff continue to be accessible. "Fight the power!" RazzHi there,

i don't get it.

rdware side of things to Sharc dsp processors on new pcie cards or rack mount interface with PC Host card. I hope ID hires you and puts you in charge of the Project. Scary what Paris could do with more modern DA Converters along with the Mix Bus Algorithems using 64 bit word length like the Sac Audio Console ala Bob Lentini (Hand Compiled in Assembler) I had talked with him once and was talking about inerfacing Paris Hardware with it via ASIO. I described to him the ability of Paris to not clip when pushed and the 52 bi

assign the faders from those tracks to a view with submix 1 and control them without ever having to worry about the drums. (I'm sure you can come up with better examples, but that's all I've got at 4:30am.)

Has anyone thought about/done this? I don't know what the state of documentation for the C16 protocol is, nor am I good enough to code an app of my own, but I'd be more than willing to pay for a solid app someone developed to do it. Sent you a PM with the URL.Excellent, thanks! I'm slammed today and then out of town til Sun, I'll get them up early next week...Hi all,

just a progress report: I've got the control panel querying windows for the list of MID interfaces and putting them in a combo box for selection, and the driver itself both opens a midi out port and registers with the PSCL for C16 fader callbacks.

I'll write as soon as I have passed some c16 fader data back via a MIDI port.

Cheers!

Mike

I Have checked the settings, but nothings happend. I have to open the CS16 to check RJ45 Socket.

Have someone opened a CS16, can something damaged easly if it opened ?
There are any special things i have to look for ? Hi there,

i did recieved 2 adat cards now. One for each of my both mecs.
I would like to connect one of the adat card to a universal audio preamp twin finity 4-710d. The Pre amp has got a digitial toslink output, but no sync socket. Is this the reason to get error message :
"Error setting enable for ADAT tracks. Error code 33/21"C16s can be safely opened with reasonable care - in fact this might be a good time to clean and maintain it. Full illustrated instructions are here, courtesy of Aaron Allen.A few things: what is your digital clock master? PARIS or the 710? Make sure your settings and cabling are appropriate. Also, don't use PARIS' ADAT control window - just treat it the same as if it were eight analog inputs to the mixer.I just sent a midi command to Reaper from the c16...very cool!

UPDATE: I'm now controlling the transport, the faders, and the mutes from my c16!!!Insanely cool! Woo

oot!great Mike ! people...don't sell your hardware, Paper (Paris+Reaper Laughing ) looks promising hereNow that is very cool

It's working out really well. My next step is getting some code working to get midi messages from Reaper (I assume it sends the starting values when a project is loaded) and turn on the up or down arrows accordingly and turn them off when the fader hits the right spot.

I'm going to have to contact Justin about the jog wheel. I set it up to send pitch wheel messages, but Reaper doesn't seem to work well with them. The playback moves forward, but then moves back when the speed of the jog wheel returns to zero.

It was a very, very cool experience seeing the C16 control another app's transport, faders, and mutes for the very first time.

Cheers!

Mike Awesome - is his being done through the Reaper extension SDK or is it all native inside the PARIS driver?Hi Kerry,

It's all being done inside the PARIS ASIO driver. There is a drop down box in the control panel, and the user can choose the MIDI port to use to send out MIDI messages that are derived from the C16 controls. I'd like it to work with any ASIO host, but I'll take a look at the SDK. That sounds interesting.

Cheers!

MikeSorry for late replay, but i was on journey(Holiday)!

So the Paris is Master, Sync by Wordclock, because i have got 2 Mecs.
The 710 configs the same like Paris ( 48KHz 24bit ). I used the Adat Window and at least Mikes driver don't work. So i use a beta Version 3.0 then it runs.
I used Mikes Driver and the mistake 1/1 appeared, when the Adat Cards are installed in the Mecs.

Did you got a hint to use Mikes Driver again ?My god what are you made off....
Do you realize what you are about to d

o! PARIS is about to do a leap I never tought possible. Thank you for doing this fantastic job! I will spread the word.WOWZERS! Shocked Very Happy THX Surprised for fast answear !

I will replay if i find the problem !Hey Kerry, were you able to get the files?Hi everyone,

I've been working of the C16 support. Reaper does not send feedback to a control surface without using a plugin. So, without a Reaper extension, there is no way to get the arrow lights to appear when the C16 is out of sync with the application.

So, I've been reading the Reaper API examples, and I'm going to write one that sends the needed feedback over a MIDI port. This way, the driver will work as envisioned on any other apps that

is--- the pcmcia card itself, the included connecting cable, and the connector on the unit itself, all super solid. never had any trouble at all, with bad connections, or anything else, and the unit just works, period. there is also room inside for two full-size hard drives!- but you'll need to make that second pci card some kind of ata or sata card, in order to make them work. think i paid something like $1,000.00 for the magma, brand new, several years ago. paris DEFINITELY works with it, no problem--- VERY GOOD little number, for getting paris on your laptop!- except for the annoying hum signature of the power supply/fans--- solid case. quality construction and materials used, through and through. as i recall, works beginning with win.98 se, and up. no special drivers needed, if i remember correctly--- the os has the drivers, and will automatically recognize the magma--- hope this helps.
harry eI haven't tried it with the laptop adapter, but I've been having fantastic results with the Virtua Via chassis under windows 7 with the PCIe card. I did some guitar tracking while PARIS played back 46 tracks with no hick-ups.

I also really like that I can just not turn on the virtua via box when I need to use the PC for something else. Putting less wear on the EDS cards is good.

Cheers!

Mike
The PCI spec states that the maximum wattage that a card can draw is 25 watts, and the EDS cards draw close to this amount.

If the board can only deliver 10 watts to the PCI slots, then it isn't PCI compliant, and it will not work.

Go for the Virtua

Via chassis, and forget about motherboard PCI.

All the best!

MikeHi Dimitrios,

The ASIO project has been on hold while we moved and I get caught up on work. But, I'll be back at it in August.

Cheers!

MikeI am having a very good experience with the Virtua Via chassis under Windows 7 64. I just added a Cooler Master Silent 450 power supply to the chassis, and it's been really quiet. I have one "silent" fan pointed at the cards from the side of the case. I switched the leads on the power connector so that it is fed with 5 volts instead of 12, and now it is actually silent, but still keeps the cards cool.

One of the best things about the Virtua Via is that I can just leave the chassis off when I'm doing other programming. With the Magma, one of the CPUs would spike at 100% if the chassis was
