Pete,
I was never successful having the UAD sharing with an EDS card.
Maybe that's it? I did allow Paris to boot up though. Did you
remove the extra Scherzo driver for the removed EDS? =20

One is a musician who'll be just doing his own stuff and one is a guy
switching from a fostex 1" 16track that he's been demoing small acts

digital scares them, so naturally they've been looking at more fostex

I don't think this unit will serve either of them very well and will

--------------010800010401050402090809--Broke it down to a 2 EDS system with no cards in PCI slot 5.

So no IRQ sharing with EDS cards at all and I still get the same
thing.I wondered when I threw in the EMU card if PARIS would go
funky on me;now I've got my answer.Damn!

Pete,
Can you go to the most recent restore point in your computer
before this debacle? That would probably work the bugs out=20
without the new EMU card installed.

So I took out my UAD and EMU card and 1 EDS;still getting the
same message.

So all I have in the comp are 2 EDS cards and I'm getting the
same thing.

Pretty frustrating since I had 4 EDS and 1 UAD working before I
installed the EMU 0404.

IDEAS?

elephant in quicksand. Now I don't have to worry about pitching demos,
calling prospective clients, and worst of all, trying to be creative (what a

As if library music and reality TV hasn't done enough damage to the custom

today...

Hmmm...maybe UPS is hiring.

set. A real tight crisp thump...

I had to check it out - he was using the evans emad heads with the muffle
rings installed (that with an audix d6). Sounded great - is any using these
heads/rings?

Are there other brands that offer a ring or muffle sytem like the emad that
can be bought seperate from the heads. I'm using the pillow system now :)...Thanks fo all the help guys.

work in my favor, actually. I have had lots of people
call me cause they hear about my "protools killing"
system :) .

I have a 3 card track/overdub system and a
5 card mix system. I keep a PT 002R on hand to facilitate
transfers and the like and the occasional remote overdub,
but it is 99% Paris for me, and not likely to change
anytime soon.

>Hey Tom,

How many EDS cards do you have? If you have more than two,
make sure that the second MEC is connected to the highest
"letter" card. Run a short BNC cable from the WC out on the
Master MEC to the WC in on the second MEC. Do not use the
house sync line. Start paris from the *EXE file*, not the
default project (this can be done with a shortcut on the
desktop). Once Paris *finishes* launching (no more flashing
lights on MEC or modules) open a project. When the project
has finished opening, select WC sync in the project window.
Wait for all lights to stop flashing again, then try to
play. If it works (and it should) do a "save as" and rename
so it saves the WC input option. When you go to lauch the
project again, launch Paris itself first, then open the
project from within Paris.

I start all periferals with a rack mount power bar first
(console, WC gen, MEC's, convertors etc etc) and fire up the
computer last.

I think the default transfer line was something like 8-16,
but I can't remember exactly.

What are your config settings for Paris? this may also play
a part. I use 128/128/80/med IIRC... but it has been a
while since I checked.

Good luck!

David.
