thing. And
I have to agree. The few projects that I've recorded in 16bit have more
"slam" to 'em. Reminds me of a recent article I read about mixing. When
asked if he had any tips for mixers the (guru-of-mix --I think it was that
Elliot Schnieder or Schmidt guy -whatever...:)) said something like (gosh
-what a terrible memory) "I just turn the knobs until it sounds right."
I must admit, sometimes I let my ears be guided by my eyes. I see "24 bit"
and think "oooh that must be better." But the fact (or at least my fact)
is that, on some projects, 16 bit is the way to go.

Sorry.....I was looking for a different.jpg to attach and I screwed up and
accidentally sent this. Anyway, I absolutely love your new desk. If I can
find the .jpg, I'll send it along. It's something that might complement what
you've built. That DMR looks like it would make a helluva' digital patchbay
;o) How many of what kind of I/O will it accommodate?......you know, of
course, that I'm gonna have to......

And even here, it depends on which PPC you get. My Audiovox ppc6600 has a
low powered IF = needs to be like 10 inches from the receiving device for it
to work therefore useless as a remote controller.

I wonder if the Alesis AI-2 can sync a Tascam MSR-16 to or from Paris.
I have heard that the video addon card for Paris is not reliable.
Anyway whats the best deal out there that would make a Tascam MSR-16 follow
