Mike, Will never used Paris, but I toured with him as a background singer
and wrote with him as well. I use to post our tour schedule and events which
is why you saw his name from time to time.

Or Peter Gabriel's 4th album (otherwise known as "Security"). Amazing
stuff - pretty much no cymbals anywhere.
I'll also throw my 2 cents into the Steely Dan thread - I never
understood the appeal. I just plain don't like anything they've done.
Of course, I also just don't get the Dead, either. Sounds like 8 guys
on stage, all stoned out of their minds, all playing a different song
to their own internal click track.
Oh, wait. That's exactly what was happening on stage....
;-P
pabhave a look at this beast. Anyone into video post??Just when you thought Motu
maybe down. Just my thought,I think it would be a great move if Apple aquired
Motu.

while back when it came out.
Most editors/production companies I know are using Decklink, Aja, Avid, etc
for I/O.
The downside a director-friend of mine noted with the MOTU unit is that it
uses DVCPro for compressed HD (instead of Apple's ProRes for example), which
isn't really a video mastering quality format. Jamie might have more
thoughts on it.
Certainly looks cool though. ;-) One thing MOTU does really well - they
cover a lot of I/O options. I'm impressed they've made a move into video
with what appears to be a rather extensive I/O unit.

I'll have to see how to de-authorize it. I've not even 100% sure it
works at this point. Haven't been able to test it in a compatible system
in a long time.
I'll be able to deal with all that after I get back from AES and
vacation. So after the 15th.

That's right! I forgot all about that - Gabriel hates cymbals
even more than Fripp does!
NeilReally? Man, their plugs do sound good..

It won't be long before this will all move on to something else anyway... so
I suppose no one wants to move up to the twenty first technical century...
I occasionally weed thru the b.s. posted and hopefully find something worth
seeing that is Paris related... but that hasn't been too often lately... I
think the for sale side is really what keeps me coming back... But I too
will move on to something else soon.
I am at a point where I am willing to try some firewire options and linux is
