This works fine here. What are you doing specifically? I added 10 mono
audio tracks, put them in a folder,
linked 4 of them in the mixer, enabled record on the folder (all 10 tracks),
recorded audio on all 10.

I read this thread but I don't understand why you are trying to pan the kick
hard left.
Remember, you are working with bus groups and internal panning, not panning
to ASIO driver
outputs as you would for a mixer. Stereo groups works fine. I sent some of
the mono tracks above
to a stereo group, panned them and they came out panned in the group. A
stereo group is a stereo sum
of any tracks you send to it. What's not working for you?

Confirmed. I hadn't run across this in other projects, but did recreate it
on a different machine.

Not sure what to tell you - this does work here. Try creating an empty
project,
add 10 tracks, add a folder, move to folder, link any of the tracks, record
enable all
(or the folder) - record. If that doesn't work, then something could be
buggy with the install.
Maybe there is something else you are doing in the process that I'm not that
is
causing this.

"Record enable selected channel" of course has no impact here, so that isn't
it, and it
shouldn't be related.

I understand now - sorry John, I didn't catch on at first. Yes, it should.
It's broken in C4.
Works in Nuendo 3.2.

No doubt C4 needs some work. Great potential, once it all works correctly.
