its practical to record simultaniously on 2 eds1000 cards, just to get enough
inputs...(Mec + 2i/o on one eds, and 442+2i/o on the other...)....sorry i'm
getting off the subject a bit!? not following your logic here... the MEC with two input cards gives
a full 16 inputs to the first submix, the 442 will only give you a
total of 6 inputs for the second submix using SPDIF as well. This
gives you a total of 22 possible inputs.

(though it may be possible just to extract these plugs from the subsystem
