process sounds terrific with any two amps
I have ever heard. I've tried it with 2 different Hiwatts, a THD Univalve,
and a JCM2000 Marshall, in different combinations, and all of them did
very well.

Interesting, but the Barber Small Fry, which I usually love, does not
give enough extra harmonics to really work well with the TZF.

That Savage sounds nice. Now I will have to try one...

DCI wasn't referring to using it across the 2-buss, or even on
mixdown, necessarily - I was referring to the channel comps in
an SSL desk... you can flatten (or maybe I should say "splatten"

engaged & see how that sounded.

I remember Fletcher once saying that SSL used dbx VCA's in
compressors for the 4000-series consoles, but I've never heard
a dbx compressor act like those. In fact, it's easy to take
that "splat" too far and end up with a snare that sounds like
you're just hitting a piece of notebook paper.
