has a sense of humor, and seems like he actually gives a crap about
something besides his own grandeur.
Personally, I hope it's him against Gore . . . then I won't have to care who
wins. :)

I'd love to synchronize my midi hardware to paris.
But Paris only sends out MTC.
How could i convert MTC to MC (midi clock) ?
Thx,
DennisYou are right Sarah, that's because he doesn't have ulterior motives, he's
not after power or money. And he's a uniter not a divider. It's a shame
so many sheep are out there and listen to the "news" instead of finding the
real news. It really goes to show how far we still have to go.
For example: I tell my wife to go on the internet and research something
like disability insurance and she has no idea how to do it. Some people
have just never learned how to fish for themselves and its so important that
people learn real skills but its easier to let the government take care of
us but as we all know THEY CAN'T !Hey all,
I've been trying to help out a frie pcnd whose using Cubase SE on a Mac (iBook
G4, osx 10.4.10 1ghz power pc, 640mb of ram). On playback, after recording
only one track, the track has clicks and pops about every six to seven seconds.
Buffers were set at: 4 buffers each at 128kb. She tried different mics
as well as different cables -still pops and crackles. She's using a Maudio
Fast track interface -latest drivers. This interface is USB.
Any ideas?
Thanks guys (and gal).
MRWell, I'd hate to think that just one track would cause buffer
issues, but just to eliminate that as a possibility you should
try setting your buffers to progressively higher settings & see
if it goes away at some stage.

RobThanks everyone.
I was talking up this group and encouraging my friend to start checking it
out. I tried out the buffer suggestion and that seemed to fix the
problem -though I agree with Neil's thought: it sure seems funny that they
were appearing with only one track. I've noticed that her setup is
flukey -so we'll see. For now she'll probably stick with the iBook -though
she did go for a (evil) melodyne purchase. I'm hoping that once she starts
flying along recording, mixing, she'll consider a 'puter upgrade.
You gents are awesome, thanks again.

If you get a chance, check it out. I engineered it top to bottom, and also
did the mastering. The artist is Tonya Watts, from Alabama. The guy who
sang on the record with her, and is also walking along side her in the
video, is Waylon Payne, who is the actor that played Jerry Lee Lewis in
"Walk The Line". He's also the son of Sammi Smith, that had the hit on
"Help Me Make It Through The Night" back in '71.

Very nice work Chris. I watched it all the way through and it held my
attention. Good song, good musicianship, good production/mix/mastering. Too
bad that chick is so ugly.
;oDYes, vary good work!
P.S.
Boy I sure miss Nashville summer NAMM shows.

;oD.......I have two old iBooks, a 1GHz and a 600MHz. They are not real fast, but I
have not had any problems running my M-Audio USB interfaces. Keep in mind,
the USB is version 1.x. I'm not running Cubase, so...YMMV.

>I checked out one of those Behringer Pedals, and they sound 'Better' than
Roland-Boss pedals. Hands down.
Note: I've been playing the guitar for over 30 years now and I've owned pretty
every boss pedal thru the years. My point:
Boss pedals we're not that good then. And you purchased them when you could
not afford a MRX or Elect-Harmonix pedal unit.
Boss prices are outlandish!! Even more, so is this new so-called boutique
fx pedal market. $200-300 hundred for a distortion box.. Pleassee!!
This whole boutique/vintage market BS that's being perpetrated on the pro-audio
world is just that BS. The fact that some of us buy this stuff and Feel like
a king when we make such ridiculous purchases. 5K-7K for a Mic that sound
wise can be had today for around $500.00 bucks.
I think this whole boutique /Vinatge market push being pushed by the old-guard
engineers that does not wnat to let go of:
-Work flow methods
-Sound of recordings
Let's take soudn of recording..Most of the pro-audio market is being held
hostage by this old guard and these guys live in a 1960-70's sound quality
mind-set. Real innovation and technology has been held hostage by companies
trying to accomodate this audien
