comparisons between the UAD1 1176LN and my own UREI 1176LN, and could find
nothing very different about the sounds of the two. I could not pick a
preference. The other great thing about plugs is you are not stuck with the
results. And they are far more cost effective. In fact I ended up seeling my
hardware 1176 as I was never using it.

Onther guys says here that it is more than that. I demoed the LE too long
ago to recall. What do you like em on?
On this thread, I have been contemplating looking for a real plate and an
old Spring verb.

You ought to see my brother's much more insane Tesla-esque experiments. His
latest electromechanical trick for me was shredding the armature/brush
material off an old sears lawn mower starter to rebuild the one on my bike..
using nothing more than a dremel, torch, soldering iron and some solder. I
promise you in no way were those parts even remotely simlar. It
works -flawlessly- and I didn't have to cough out $430 for a new one from
Honda. Merry Christmas bro!
I was digging around looking for video, but all I could find was this old
picture with your mug on it.
Remember it? (yah, thanks a lot, Lovell...)
You guys gettin' cold enough down there yet?

That's about it, ain't it? I'm probably as anti-pill a guy as you'll meet
though I understand that sometimes it's necessary. I'm not elitist about it.
I just have a real problem with the way it's admired in today's society and
how natural cures are pushed down from view by the 'powers that be'.

Actually this was www.learnjazzpiano.com... or something like that.
Some of them are a little average though. Despite the corn, I was a fan of
the one about making sure you have a car... ;o)
Cheers,
Kim.I believe he already stated that he checked the jumpers.
I just recently went through kinda the same situation. Getting blue screen
or total lock up and finding the culprit is very frustrating. I thought it
was my motherboard. Replaced it, with new CPU and memory... rebuilt a computer
with the old motherboard and it worked perfectly fine. Come to find out...
it was the video card (an ASUS). Totally had me baffled and cost me over
300 bucks. Never again will I buy an ASUS product!
Anyway, what I would suggest is to start with this tactic. Remove all your
components. Boot up and see if it's ok. If so, then start putting components
back in, one at a time to find the culprit.
My experience with windows is that I never rely on the BSOD message. But
I used to get that "VXD" message occasionally when I use to use Win98. It
usually meant a hardward problem. I use Win2000 now and I will stick with
it, perhaps as long as I can. XP is a bloated nuisance which calls home
with unknown information... And it's DRM is 10 times worse than Sony rootkit.
And after the rootkit exposure, it is PROVEN that none of the antivirus companies
have a clue on what they are doing.... sorry to rant... but I would suggest
to do a process of elimination on your components first. If you have a spare
video card, try to replace that. It don't take much of a power surge/purge
to burn up components!

the network, so if it's a no go let me know...
....I'm a poet and I don't know it...
Great to have people passing us this kind of info. :o) There are some really
cool friends of Paris out there.
Cheers,
Kim.My experience with the DvD delimma of this kind is that sometimes it is because
of the plus (+) or minus (-). I have had so many burnt DvD not playing in
some.. but does read in others. I only purchase burners that do both plus
and minus and I only purchase quality plus DvD's. I stay away from minus.
I too have stuff archived from years ago (2001/2002) that I archived with
an older Panasonic (minus) DvD burner. Of course, they sit there and I can't
get the data off of them. I have tried several different drives with the
same results...
Of course, this proves a VERY important lesson... DvD backups "are not" reliable
in the long term. Perhaps the quality of the media and the drives improved
since then, but I don't feel too safe with burning backups on DvDs now. I
bought a Sony tape drive not long ago, but I hate it. There is no way to
get pieces of your data off the tape once it is backed up. The only cheap
alternative I see, is to buy cheap, smaller hard drives (4/6/10GB) and back
up folders to them.

I take it that Dual core is a no go with Paris. (?).
