Sad but exciting moment has arrived. My last Paris tracking happened
tonight. Six years Paris has been a loyal friend to me, but its time to move
on.
My Pro Tools rig has arrived, and Im setting it up this week. I bought
a Pro tools HD3 accel PCI-e rig, with a control 24, and a dual 2.0 G5. Hence
the excitement.
paris has treated me well. Ive done a number of records on it that have
done quite well here in Australia. I have won Engineer/producer of the year
for the last 2 years here in Western Australia, and I truly believe Paris
added something to my sound that other digital studios couldnt achieve.
I am keeping my Paris rig, cuz i cant entirely let go yet.
Cheers to ya all.!!!
DaveBut it's sooooo cool to record a piiano and then when your Britney Spears
lookalike vocalist comes in and can't hit the pitch because she's really a
he with a baritone voice because the hormone shots haven't kicked in, you
can pitch down and replace it with a B-3.
That stuff happens here all the time.

Good luck to you. I hope you're happy with the PT rig. If you plan on mixing
any projects at 44.1, you Paris rig can still come in very handy as a
summing bus.

Best of both worlds I suppose
dcnIt does not support 1600x1200 which my box DOES do. BUT..........I
returned it and when I did I checked out the Gateway computer and it the
computer DOES go to 1680x1050 and it looks incredible.
So...I checked out device manager and it's using an onboard Nvidia
Geforce 6100. I'm trying to find what motherboards have that chip cuz
it doesn't appear to be a card they sell and I'll just swap the
motherboard out because this display is really georgeous. Off to
searching motherboards now.....if anyone finds some MB's post them here
please.

>Yeah, what's up with the mower?
Hehe, I was kidding really, but the mower's handle fell off, or mostly off.
I did, of course, buy the cheapest lawnmower they had, so it's kinda my fault
I guess. The handle is bolted on to the body using two locking nuts, both
of which failed to lock properly. I knew they were loose, but couldn't be
bothered tightening them again. "Next time". Then one nut came right off,
and I coudln't find it to save myself (a trip to the hardware store). So
I had to go down to the hardware store and buy a new bolt before I could
finish mowing the lawn...
....not, of course, until after I'd attempted to hobble something together
with a cable tie. I was considering gaffa tape... I mean gaffa tape fixes
everything of course, but I didn't know where some was.
I'm not the biggest fan of mowing the lawn at the best of times, but when
the handle falls off it really whips my llama. I guess it serves my right
though for buying the cheapest mower, and then failing to tighten the nuts
even though I knew they were loose.
I guess I should apologise to my llama.
Cheers,
Kim.
