I've had a further think about it and found another peice of gear among my
collection which I can use, and would rather use, for this purpose, which,
far as I can tell from the manual, is happy to have half the balanced output
strapped to ground...
....mind you it is a Behringer, so it's liable to blow up either way...

Kim.Anybody know a good cheap model? I'm after a wireless headset microphone.
I mean obviously to a degree you get what you pay for, but I'm not super
concerned about sound quality as there wont be that much in the way of vocals.
Obviously headset mics are average in any case. A lot of the purpose of it
will be for use with a vocoder though, so exact tonal quality isn't going
to come through anyhow.
Any ideas?

This thing was planned rather haphazardly and on short notice. Up until this
afternoon, it was a no-go because of previous commitments by various
musicians and the sound crews were all committed elsewhere until the 2nd
week of October. There is a very abbreviated 3-4 hour show happening at the
Trimble Hot Springs on the 25th with a few local acts. I just found out
about it about 5:00 PM and I have no idea who is doing sound or what
equipment is even going to be available. It certainly won't be on the scale
that was originally planned. I'm think
