If that's the case, THAT's the biggest problem with trying to
use it as an OS for a DAW (importing files from existing
projects done on another compute, being able to play back files
originated on the Vista DAW on any other PC's, etc.)

I can hear it though. Way out on the fringe of my awareness.
Imagine a really hard blues thing, kind of a SRV Crossfire with a bit
of very early Johnny Winter thrown in, and instead of the standard
